PGS Wins Mediterranean 3D Project

Secures Ramform Hyperion for Survey, Further Expands Offshore Portfolio


PGS, a seismic player listed on the Oslo stock exchange, has secured a significant 3D project within the Mediterranean region, catering to an undisclosed entity within the energy sector.

The esteemed vessel, Ramform Hyperion, has been designated for utilization throughout this venture, with operations slated to initiate during the early stages of March. Encompassing an estimated timeframe of 30 days, the project is poised to deliver comprehensive insights into the designated area.

Despite not being encompassed within the $336 million order book for the fourth quarter of 2023, this undertaking has been duly accounted for within the recorded position as of mid-February, elucidating its strategic significance.

Expressing satisfaction regarding this notable project award, Rune Olav Pedersen, the esteemed President and CEO of PGS, conveyed, “We are very pleased with this acquisition project award, extending the Ramform Hyperion’s campaign in the Mediterranean until the end of March. After completing this project, the vessel will steam to the Norwegian continental shelf and commence pre-funded multi-client projects.”

This accomplishment marks the second contract secured by PGS within the month of February. The preceding contract pertained to a two-month offshore wind site survey within European waters, further consolidating the company’s standing within the maritime sector.
